About the Book

As a respected doctor in a field you love, why would suicide cross your mind? Who could imagine that you don’t have it all? Unmasked delves into physician suicide, discussing the battles in life that might bring someone to the point of considering suicide as an option, as a solution. Ironically, it’s during a global pandemic that this doctor discovers her healing and cure. She does it in isolation with the help of a mental health counselor and psychiatrist. Upon sharing her journey, the author hopes that it will help readers understand the suicidal mind. She hopes that her story will encourage others like her to seek help and healing. As a physician, she continues to focus on the importance of emotional, mental, and physical health in her practice.

The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is available 24 hours a day. 800-273-8255.

In Unmasked, Dr. Isabella Moretto casts light onto a subject many of us would rather not see. Her raw honesty takes us
to a place that is unknown to many, but real, harsh and at times, brutal. As a fellow author, I felt moved and shaken by some of what I read, at the same time wanting to continue reading, and by the end, feeling a great empathy toward her and those who have been on the brink of suicide. It is a vivid and crass look at how life can throw us into a situation where we aren't even sure how we manage to survive. She has brought it to light. A great read!

This book was an incredible read! Dr Moretto’s story was so real and I admire her courage in sharing her story. She is open and honest discussing the topic of suicide and the struggles the healthcare profession has endured especially over the past few years. This book will make you laugh, cry, empathize, and is relatable to so many. Cannot recommend it enough!
