Deke Rivers can't help that he's a hit with the ladies. He is a charismatic lead singer with the Cromatics and is just doing what comes naturally. Unfortunately his popularity doesn't go over too well with James, the leader of rival band Pazzaz. Tempers flare when both bands are scheduled to play the same venue, so James decides to pursue Susan, who is only made more attractive by the fact that she and Deke seem to be fond of each other. Deke and James share many misadventures before the story is brought to its surprising and entertaining conclusion. Witty, timeless dialogue and the carefree attitudes of the characters make this novel a fast-paced, enjoyable experience.
