In Sons of Man, executives from a global cooperation, SynSonics, have cornered most world markets and have become intractable by any nation’s government. Driven by evil beings wielding dark forces, this global think tank impels humankind into complete servitude. Aliens, who once secretly protected Earth, have abandoned us. Humankind has lost faith and without the protection of higher beings, extinction is a certainty.

Having foreseen this, one extraterrestrial, benevolent and forward thinking, leaves a part of her aura behind to spark a revolution. The remaining human survivors, attacked by the evil beings but not killed, have been infected, apparently inheriting special abilities that they are just beginning to discover. With these new powers, and with the aid of several androids, they form a group, a team, ready to confront the dark forces and face them in one final battle between good and evil.

Unique Sci-Fi

This one was pretty thought-provoking. I found myself using a lot of critical thinking skills while reading this instead of just simply succumbing to the story like I typically do. I use reading as an escape normally, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Not chronological

I have a bit of a difficult time with reading books that don't go chronologically. I understand it is a storytelling technique, but it threw me off a bit that it started with a section "34 years before end day" and then jumped to 212 years. Other than that being a personal issue for me, I did really enjoy the story. It is worth the read.

Well written sci fi page turner that addresses many of the issues perplexing and concerning to scientists. Recommended as it takes you of your comfort zone to consider the possibilities of alien contact with technologies that dwarf current human capabilities. The quantum condition of being in more than one place at the same time and moving at speeds faster than light are fascinating. Genetically augmented and evolved humans are handled with the craftsmanship of a good story teller. Look forward to the next book.
