Sonnie is a normal, friendly seven-year-old boy who lives with his mother, brother, two sisters, and his dog Mimi. Sonnie doesn’t remember his dad, who left when Sonnie was a baby. One day, Sonnie meets a raggedy man named Joe sleeping on a bench in the park. As he befriends the man, Sonnie learns that looks can be deceiving.
