Shattered Reflections

Consider the metaphor of life as a mirror: Our mirror is perfect at birth, and as we age, life experiences creep in to weaken the glass, and the mirror starts to shatter. Still, the shards reflect the pieces of our selves, the many facets of our personalities. In ShaTTered Reflections, poet Julzee explores both the fragile, fragmented emotional landscape that develops from lifes hardships and the endurance of the human spirit. Julzee recreates a complex inner world through poems on topics ranging from infidelity, disassociation, and the far-reaching effects of loss to loneliness, longing, and regret. The bracingly honest narrative voice chronicles a somber internal struggle to cope and grieve and mourn while offering a glimpse of the bigger picture: There are universal feelings and experiences; despite a sense of isolation, you are not alone in your experience and the grief is survivable.
