Most importantly, can he find who has been threatening his life in an attempt to steal the ring he must begrudgingly protect?

About the Author:

Eric Michaels was born in Brazil before being adopted and raised in Arizona. From Amazon to Arizona, it seems he has a propensity to suffer the sun’s heat. It is no wonder his career is in the wind industry, he is drawn to giant fans. His hobbies include being disappointingly sarcastic, much to the chagrin of his family, and playing city builder video games. He’s a daydreamer who loves writing and maintaining cars.

An awakening to a fourth dimension - full stars!

A fantastic story about coming of age and discovering magical talents. The pages turned enthusiastically and the worldbuilding was immersive. A very inventive and bubbly read…sufficiently effervescent. I look forward to more from this author!

Good book, bad formatting

The formatting of this book is lovely -- ornate capitals at the beginning of each chapter, and other artistic embellishments. Unfortunately, to hold these things in place, the book has been submitted to .KDP in .PDF format. This means that people who rely on the ability to adjust type size must rely on their computer's onboard magnification or an actual physical magnifier to read the text. The plot is excellent, the writing well done. If the reader enjoys high fantasy with a little contemporary thrown in, they will like this book. However, it is probably best read as a physical book rather than digital. The need for accessibility assistance detracted from my enjoyment of an otherwise good fantasy.

Wonderful coming of age story that will leave you moved

If you love coming of age stories with a touch of magic then this book is for you. It provides all the right ingredients for a YA fantasy, complete with finding out about unknown worlds on your 16th birthday. Not say it's a bad thing as these tales always seem to hit a home run as people can relate to the longing for something more around this time frame. The book offers plenty of emotion, adventure, and magic to keep readers engaged for hours. I'd love to read more in this series and watch as the characters grow.

What an adventure!

I have to say Shards of the Septem Sphere: The Ring of Mortanius by Eric Michaels is a one-of-a-kind book that was glued to my mind from the beginning to end. This was a book full of adventure and was written in a way where you can really feel its richness in terms of storyline and characterization. I was able to feel its magic and mystery all throughout the book. The writing style of the author also has a different feel, something I haven't had before. Eric Michaels was able to build a world that is vivid and full of emotions and he was able to draw characters that are grounded and relatable. This book was amazing in many ways, and it simply made me fall in love with this genre again. A highly recommended book!
