One day, in the fishing community of Gagechwen, a terrible oil spill throws the town in panic and heartbreak. As they clean up and mourn the loss of the wildlife and their food, they discover a lonely little seal pup. They name him Sammy.

Over the years, Sammy becomes one of them and helps them out in every way they can, especially when the community runs out of food. But Sammy proves his worth and shows the community what seals can really do!
