Small town Storytelling at its best!

After seeing a news story highlighting the author and his first ever book also becoming a best seller, I had to see for myself. It was a page turner! The descriptive story-telling had me envisioning every scene as if watching a 2-hour mini series/event on TV. The changing of time periods between the chapters kept me interested and glued to each page wondering what happens next. Highly recommend and looking forward to the next book(s) in the author’s writing career.

Lovable spine-chilling story

“Mystery in the Hill” is a nerve-racking book about a small town, where a chain of unexpected, strange events take place.A group of friends that live in the calm town of Wisconsin witness the discovery of a mystery which is going to change their lives - and the life of the people in the town - forever. The story kept me at the edge of my seat from the very first chapter. I loved the characters and I loved the way the events were connected and displayed. The author of the book, called Aaron Qualio, gave me the perfect reason to start reading horror stories again, and he also gives children a great and entertaining opportunity to pick up a book.

Intriguing New Author Hits the Mystery Scene

Qualio has the qualities of an expert storyteller who can hold the readers' imagination throughout the book. Additionally, the author adds a bit of history to the book as well as explaining in a fun way what it is like to grow up in a small town. As most of America is a network of small towns, generations of people will read this book and understand their story from it.Qualio weaves together two generations of stories in his book, one set from the greatest generation of WWII and the other from Generation X as they were high school seniors in 1997. The story is intriguing and easy to follow through the different lens of the generations. My only regret with the book was that it ended. It was such fun reading that it could awaken many high school students, boys in particular, to the joys of reading. As a retired college professor of politics, I would even recommend it as a way to interest college students into academic reading as Qualio wove variants of facts throughout the book such as the relationships between levels of government, public v. private lives of civil servants, etc. It could be used as a supplemental text in an introductory criminal justice or public administration class quite easily and the price is right too.
