About the Author
Douglas M. Gebbie is a retired physician. He graduated in medicine from the University of Glasgow in Scotland and served in the Royal Navy before emigrating to Canada, where he worked for a year in Northern Newfoundland. He later moved to Ontario, practicing as a general practitioner before returning to school to specialize in anesthesiology. His career included work in both Toronto and Cincinnati, Ohio. He now lives in Florida, where he continues to write on subjects drawn from experience, practicality, and lifelong learning.
