About the Author

Viviene Brown-Watson was born and schooled in Jamaica. Viviene has two sisters, one brother and an only son Malik. Her brother passed some years ago from a condition called Multiple Myeloma, and her mom died from complication of breast cancer.  Growing up in Jamaica, Vivieneʻs childhood was the best she could have had. She was deeply loved by her grandparents, whom she lost over the years, and today she wishes they were here to see her son grow up and how she has grown over the years. Viviene has amassed several degrees over the years, all of which she has received with honors. Most recently, she graduated  with a degree in Curriculum Instruction from one of Florida's best universities . Viviene has worked in education and in health, and her experiences have allowed her to see cultural differences, including respect and disrespect of cultures. However, as she continues to grow, her goal is to do the best she can to help the people she comes in contact with to feel belonged and respected. Viviene would like to thank her Vintex crew, her family, friends, her professors (Dr. Foerch and others) for instilling in her that the ultimate goal is to let her students live, survive, and learn about the world around them, by using their experiences, survival skills, and learning about coping and respect for each other in their lives, as they transcend through their academic experiences and into the world.

Hello to all. This book is amazing for children who are at the perfect age to learn about different cultures and traditions. I’ve read the book to my nieces and nephews who range from 2 to 9 years of age. They enjoyed the book so much that every time they come over we have to read it. The author did great job putting this story together to capture the right audience.
I recommend this book to all my friends especially the ones with little kids.
