BeDazzled Trauma follows the life of Jacki Myrice, a young girl struggling to survive childhood sexual abuse while navigating a confusing and equally traumatizing relationship with her cold and critical mother. Falling into the world of ballroom dance saved her initially but also led her on a path further into addiction. 
Poor messaging about God and His love for His children kept Jacki trapped in a prison of self-loathing for decades, but God chased after her, relentlessly pursuing her back to life among the living. 
Many people believe bad things happen as a result of God punishing them. Yet through Jacki’s seemingly shimmering, sparkly life of dance and her behind-closed-doors, dark trauma, it was God who waited patiently for her to begin to trust Him and to begin to find the courage and strength in her own self to heal and see the smallest moments God has intervened to lead her to rehabilitation. 

About the Author

Jacki Myrice has lived in the world of ballroom dance for over forty years. She owes it her life, meeting her husband of thirty-four years through it and now being a mother to three adult daughters and grandmother to four grandchildren. In her spare time she volunteers with a day program to support adults with disabilities and spreads the joy of dance to their eager hearts. She is also an avid golfer and bowler.
