She misses her mother terribly but knows her mother is not stable enough to take care of her. When Christmastime comes, however, Annette tries her best to be full of spirit and happiness, hoping that her mother will visit her. But when Ms. Wobbles, the houseparent, receives a disappointing phone call, Annette gives up all hope. Annette soon learns that Christmas is not about getting and receiving presents. But what will this Christmas bring to Annette? Will she receive her only desired Christmas gift?
