A Rye-markable Journey is a heartwarming tale of a little ball of dough longing to learn and find who he will become! As a malleable character, he is profoundly shaped by his adventure through the world market he was “born” in, the amazing Central Park of New York City.

Follow along as he tours through the various countries within the world market, meeting characters along the way from all different nationalities. Absorbing the love and delightfulness of cultures from around the world, the little dough learns that through love and acceptance of all, you can truly develop into the brightest version of yourself.

As their first published book, Lauren and Gabi hope A Rye-markable Journey will connect with children and families alike, with a message of leading with love, open heartedness, and acceptance for all who cross our paths.

About the Author and Illustrator

Lauren Palmar Gerami is the vice president of Aspire Grant and Development, and a professional writer, living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Outside of her work and personal life, Lauren is also the founder of Operation: BeYoutiful in partnership with her mother, Andi Palmar, which provides wigs and other specialized services for girls and women battling medically related hair loss. Giving back to the community is an integral part of the Palmar family, as they are so grateful for their local community of friends.

Gabi Cooper is an Appalachian artist, teacher, and practiced daydreamer from a tiny town in the Ohio River Valley. Gabi has a bachelor’s degree in art education and studied folklore, and her students continue to spark the playful, imaginative whimsy threaded through her murals and community-rooted work. She hopes her art honors those small moments that turn out to be the big ones, and the rare magic of being here to feel them.
