About the Authors
Kellie Capps is an avid animal lover! She was raised on a farm in her early years. Her family always had pets and rescued various animals. Kellie has an undergraduate degree in sociology and psychology, a master’s in education, and hours toward a doctoral degree in higher education leadership. The majority of her career has been in administration at colleges and universities. Kellie lives in Missouri and is a high school English teacher. She has served as a volunteer for educational organizations and for fundraising efforts. She currently serves on the Dogwood Animal Shelter Board of Directors and is a hospice volunteer through her local hospital hospice program.
Clayton Capps has had animals and pets in his life since birth. He is known by his family as the “animal whisperer”. He illustrated the cover of the book at age 12. He truly had a heart for a mouse, which inspired this book. He is currently a junior (2026) in college majoring in music entrepreneurship. He hopes to live on a farm one day and have a variety of animals.
All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to Dogwood Animal Shelter.
