A Cautionary Tale
This is a book purporting to impart wisdom to those who venture forth on uncertain paths with no clue of how to know when or where to look for signs, guideposts really, for the supernatural world and how it manifests itself. The wise old man or woman passing on knowledge and experience uses the natural world around us to show the way. He draws on crows, sounds, the moon, and the time of year when leaves are dry and crackle underfoot.
A Cautionary Tale shows that when all these signs are manifest is when strange things happen. Witches might be seen to fly through the air. Spooky beings lurk about and usually calm animals act strangely. Most of all, take care should you enter a cemetery. Graveyards hold the dead, but are they all there? Or do they walk among us? Time is turned on its head! Especially in this time of pandemic, many children are exposed to the reality of death. This story can give them pause, a moment of reflection on that reality for themselves. It urges them to take steps necessary to stay safe and assures them they remain among the living.
