About the Author

Dan Rose received his Masters degree in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1978. So long ago in fact, that serial killer was often spelled cereal killer. For years he has studied the phenomenon and causation of serial murder.

He still maintains that his most memorable years were those spent with his Brothers and Sisters of the Ocean City Police Department.

Just finished reading "Little Boy Blue". It was an excellent read that just keeps you guessing. I have known and worked with the Dan for some 50 years. Having grown up and worked in all the locations where the story takes place added a unique perspective to the story. Brought back many memories. More than enough twists and turns to keep your interest and fuel the desire to keep reading.

Poor Leo, a victim of his environment? Maybe. The book tells the story of good vs. pure evil. It takes you into the mind of a psychological serial killer who captures the interest of a local police chief, investigating several murders in his jurisdiction. The story introduces Leo as a young boy who kills for fun and how he matures into a calculated social predator. Leo has honed his skills and now, mostly targets females of young girls. Leo takes pleasure in stalking, torturing and terrorizing his victims as he takes them home to kill them. In Leo's quest to broaden his murdering sprees, he traverses several states which eventually involves detectives in a multi jurisdictional search. As the book progresses, it shows the dedication and personal endurance these officers shared and to what lengths they would go to in an effort to capture and put Leo behind bars. The author draws you in and hooks you right away. You will not be able to put the book down. I can assure you, from now on, you will always be one hundred percent aware of your surroundings. Well done, Mr. Rose.

The author, a former police officer, gives insight into the shortcomings involving police investigations and he creates a realistic story of a serial killer that manages to navigate through society undetected. The detailed description of the killer’s operation method and techniques is horrifying. The book was a fabulous read from beginning to end and makes one realize that monsters aren’t in fairy tales but walk among us.

Dan Rose’s “Little Boy Blue” is a shocking journey through the psyche of a monstrous and highly perverted serial killer. Rose tells the story with accurate police procedure and a deep understanding of the murderous criminal mind.
