At age fifty-one, James Roberts is nearing the end of his ten-year prison sentence.

As he sits alone in his stripped-down cell in a federal prison camp, James looks back on the fateful events leading up to his incarceration, and the gross miscarriage of justice perpetrated by the justice system.

Ten years prior, James Roberts is the hardworking owner of a limousine rental company. When he meets a mysterious businessman who claims to know of a great deal on vintage luxury cars, James jumps at the opportunity. However, this businessman, Joe, begins to act more erratically, dragging James on long trips just to cancel last minute, eventually burning through thousands of James’s funds. Desperate to recoup some of his money, James agrees to buy a kilo of cocaine for him—hoping to finally catch Joe committing a crime. But when James finds himself in handcuffs, with Joe nowhere to be found, he realizes he is in a terrible nightmare come true.
