When the great city of Raozu was besieged by the terrible Nokruv Sovereignty, a wandering swordsman with a broken past flees to the nearest town to warn them of the approaching danger. But this town, Crothen, has no standing army, and their allies have been outmaneuvered by Nokruv’s forces. Thus the swordsman must work with the town marshal and his wife, both experienced with combat and suffering, to repel the oncoming assault long enough for their allies to return.

In Defense of Crothen is a short story that communicates the pain and trauma of death and separation in the midst of a war-torn land. It acknowledges the terrible evils of the world, but in the face of that praises the beauty of righteousness, forgiveness, and familial love. It points to the beauty of letting go of one’s own pain to grow and heal, and become a better person.

This author hopes to tell an entertaining and motivating story to the reader with wholesome outlook on life, thereby inspiring them.
