Mary And Other Poems
The title poem, Mary, is a rendition in dramatic form of Marys attempt to cope with the situation that arises following the arrest of her son, Jesus, and her feelings toward Judas, his betrayer. Mary is a true and ardent disciple of her son, so she pities Judas, and in doing so, she explores the scope of her own loneliness. Even while she is suffering the unbearable pain brought about by the impending loss of her beloved son, she is trying to save Judas from eternal damnation. Through her conversations with some of Jesus followers, she shares her mystical wisdom with them. Although she is in utter despair, she tells them to make life a miracle of prayer and forgiveness, of love and humility. Mary and the four poems that follow are truly inspirational.
