Silent Messages
Shh! What was that? Did you hear it? That was the voice of God in that laugh you heard, that butterfly you saw, that crack of thunder, that smile from your friend. He is sending you a message, a subtle message that your faith will translate if only you can hear it. Van White believes there are messages from God in every sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste, is we would only take the time to open our minds and hearts to hear what he is saying. Even the seemingly most mundane sense can bring Gods message soughing gently into our hearts, his message of love and care and concern for his children. Shh! There he is again, in the roar of the ocean waves, reminding us of baptism; in the meow of the little kitten, reminding us how much he cares; in the sight of a tree seedling, reminding us that even the tiniest things can be helpful. Be still, and listen!
