I received Kevin Dooley's book in the mail and sat down immediately to read it. And I read it from cover to cover in one afternoon. As one who has been to Africa multiple times, I deeply appreciated his descriptions of and feelings for man's relationship to Nature and all creatures. He captures the essence of what it means to sit quietly, observe, and honor the animals before him. His photography is magnificent. This is a beautiful story and I highly recommend it.

Masterful imagery and engaging storytelling

Kevin Dooley takes the alert reader on an incredible journey here, not only deep into the heart of Africa, but into his own heart as well. His engaging storytelling combined with his masterful imagery will place you front and center with some of the most exciting species on the planet. His use of black and white photography makes this a timeless work; lines blur between eons, transporting the reader to an era when humanity and wild nature were more closely aligned. Ultimately, these stories and images spark questions: what place do I have here, and what is the highest good I can do? Thank you Kevin, for so freely sharing these gifts with the world.
