On August 14, 2002, the dedicated, loyal, and loving fans of the late King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, remembered a quiet anniversary. Yes, it was the twenty-fifth anniversary of his death, and Betty Ann Bailes is one woman who remembers him as well as if she just saw him yesterday. Every January eighth since 1978, the first year after his untimely death, Betty Ann has penned a loving and heartfelt poetic tribute to the talented musician. With each poem set to paper on the auspicious date of his birth, she not only created a personalized birthday wish but also reminds us of the good times with Elvis, how he paved the way for many young musicians with his innocent yet daring rhythm, words, and dance moves. He inspired a generation with lighthearted fun twenty-five years ago, and continues to be an inspiration to that and other generations today. Happy birthday, Elvis, from Betty Ann Bailes!

Employed as a customer service specialist for Wal-Mart in Maryland, Betty Ann Bailes and her husband of forty-four years, Ronald, have raised four sons: Timothy, Paul, David, and Charles. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, travel, gardening, and, of course, collecting Elvis memorabilia.
