About the Author
Valerie F. Butler obtained her bachelor of arts degree from Oberlin College and her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. In her time at the State of Ohio Office of Collective Bargaining, she saw how mediation could help in labor disputes and became a certified mediator through the Pierce County Center for Dispute Resolution in Tacoma, Washington.
