A shieldbearer, a dragonkin, and a minotaur all connected by the same dream, a calling to a greater purpose. The shieldbearer, Eilis, abandons her lord, and his anger and jealousy consume him. The dragonkin, Tavshi, haunted by the dreams, sets out to the magisters of the Argent Spire to discover his purpose. The minotaur, Uxsan, leaves his magically gifted daughter in the capable hands of teachers and protectors.

As the trio find each other, Eilis’s lord, Varren, hatches a plan to return her to his command, and to kill any who stand in his way. With a larger looming threat hovering over them all, they will need to not only stop a greater tragedy to their world but also contend with Varren’s dark legion.
