In her powerful treatise, An Ounce of Cure for Our Children, Parents, and Communities through the Eyes of an Educator, author Charity Williams Anderson presents a powerful call for parents to take back control of their children and their lives and behaviors, for we as adults are ultimately accountable for our offspring. Ms. Anderson shares with us her belief that because children are the direct result of parents, in that we have afforded them life. The responsibility begins and ends with us to build strong communities, churches, and schools which only contribute to the upbringing of a child. As it now stands, educators are shouldering far too much of the blame for the inappropriate behavior of todays young people, when the fault rightfully belongs at the feet of their parents. She encourages parents to band together and accept accountability for their child-rearing to build stronger communities and churches and, ultimately, a stronger nation.
