A Great Book and A Must Read

What a powerful book! It was hard for me to put it down once I began reading it. The experiences included in this memoir are experiences Dr. Neal had a a classroom teacher, a basketball coach, a guidance counselor, and as an assistant principal. They are often funny, sometimes sad, and once in a while frustrating.

The memoir describes the rewards and challenges of a 34 year career in education at Lake Worth Middle School, a public school in South Florida.

Dr. Neal writes about the reality of the school shooting death of a beloved teacher by a middle school student. The trauma and healing process by students and staff from the experience were profound. This memoir shines light on the dedication, resiliency, and sense of community by Lake Worth Middle School's staff, students, and parents brought on by this tragedy.

I enjoyed reading this book!
