Great factual book

“Stand Your Ground” is an amazing revelation on one man who acted in self defense and now has to battle an out of control prosecutor whose backwards belief in “guilty until proven innocent”. Page Turner which I read in two sittings.

An Unflinching Testament of Honor from a US Army Ranger Veteran

Barry Todd’s Stand Your Ground is a powerful, unapologetic, and inspiring read from start to finish. As a proud U.S. Army Ranger veteran, Todd brings a rare authenticity and moral clarity to the page—qualities forged in service, tested in leadership, and refined through a lifetime of unwavering commitment to faith, family, and country.

More than just a memoir, Stand Your Ground is a rallying cry. Todd shares his personal journey with courage and conviction, blending gripping accounts from his military service with hard-earned lessons about honor, sacrifice, and what it truly means to take a stand. His perspective as a Ranger adds weight to every word—this is not theory or rhetoric, but the lived experience of a warrior and a patriot.

Todd writes with the same integrity he’s lived by: direct, principled, and fearless. His words challenge, uplift, and inspire, making this a must-read for veterans, patriots, and anyone who values leadership rooted in character.

In a time when courage and conviction are often in short supply, Stand Your Ground stands tall. It’s a book that will stay with you long after you turn the final page—and one I wholeheartedly recommend.

A Harsh Reality Check that could happen to anyone.

The rude awakening of how our legal system is not truly innocent until proven guilty. It made me think about how a normal night could escalate so quickly & could happen to any of our families. A story of self defense and knowing your rights can still be hard to prove. The author (A Retired decorated Army Vet, father, husband and upstanding business owner) was enjoying a night with family and friends, which turned into years of anguish and strife. His freedom hung in the balance and the burden of proof was put on him, but the opposite of how it should be, he had to prove his innocence. The broken legal system was focused on the best type of American, which is shocking. It makes you aware of what could happen, teaches how to avoid it, and what to do. A testament to mental fortitude, belief, conviction and having the courage to defend yourself against physical attacks and even the judicial system. I love how proceeds from the book also go towards helping other Americans out these nightmares.

Gripping, Honest, and Unforgettable

Stand Your Ground by Barry Todd is one of those rare true stories that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. What starts as a simple night out quickly spirals into a terrifying sequence of events involving a violent bar fight, the desperate need to protect his wife and himself, and a grueling battle through the justice system that no one would ever want to face.

What makes this book truly stand out is how clearly and thoroughly Barry explains each stage of the ordeal. Despite the legal complexities and emotional weight of the situation, everything is laid out in a way that’s easy to follow but never oversimplified. I found myself completely hooked, flipping pages late into the night just to find out what would happen next.

This isn’t just a story about self-defense—it’s about how one moment can change everything, and how the system can sometimes punish those trying to do the right thing. Barry’s honesty, vulnerability, and refusal to sugarcoat his experience make this book not only compelling but deeply human.

If you’re interested in true crime, self-defense, or courtroom drama, this is a must-read. It will make you think twice about what “justice” really means—and stay with you long after the last page.
