Sister, Let me Tell Ya

By: Bernadine

About the Book

Sister, LetMe Tell Ya is the engaging and heart-wrenching story of Bernadette, a young African-American woman who aspires to live her dream of becoming an author.

Raised by two loving parents, Bernadette appreciates the advantages she has had in life and seeks to help other young people who have not had the firm grounding she was blessed with. She tries to stay focused on her goals, but when the first man she falls in love with turns out to be a part of the very lifestyle she is struggling against, she finds herself torn between her ideals and good judgment and her feelings for Rick.

A developing relationship with Tony, a lifelong friend, seems to offer positive support, but along the way Bernadette fails to heed some of her own best advice: to be true to herself and strong within herself before seeking to love another.

Sister, LetMeTell'Yo encourages readers to consider the ramification of Bernadette's choices and to consider how we might apply those lessons in our own lives. The author's powerful message strengthens her appealing and insightful novel.

    Awesome Poems in the book.

Love the poems in this book . Eighteen , what does that really mean. Now that I am eighteen. I can make my own rules, do what I want. Able to date now. Make my own money. Pay my own bills. Grown is what I am now. Able to vote and say no at a drop of a dime. I always say, can't wait until I'm eighteen. My mom always rebutted with the comment. Girl, coming of age means many things, and now you are about to find out... Don't do to others what you don't want done to you, baby girl. Remember my final words: It takes, A person a long time to know where she came from and where she is going. Age is just a number . You are defined by your actions and your morals,
