When a little girl loses her mother at the age of three, shes terribly lonely. Shes not old enough to go off to school as the other children do day after day. But with a loving, caring family and faith in God, she finds hope and joy.

About the Author

Doris J. Madkins is a Texas native, born in Pine Hill and raised in Henderson. She relocated, establishing herself in Houston for thirty-one years, where she raised two lovely daughters. After graduating from Barber College, Ms. Madkins built a prestigious clientele as a professional barber. She recently moved back to Henderson. Guided by prayer, she began writing God Made the Sun to Shine, which, incidentally, is about her personal childhood experiences. Doris J. Madkins is interested in gardening, cooking, and traveling.
