I received Kevin Dooley's book in the mail and sat down immediately to read it. And I read it from cover to cover in one afternoon. As one who has been to Africa multiple times, I deeply appreciated his descriptions of and feelings for man's relationship to Nature and all creatures. He captures the essence of what it means to sit quietly, observe, and honor the animals before him. His photography is magnificent. This is a beautiful story and I highly recommend it.

Amazing photographs with a narrative that transport you to Africa. Anyone who enjoys stunning photography and animals will love this book. If there were more stars, I would give it more.

His engaging storytelling combined with his masterful imagery will place you front and center with some of the most exciting species on the planet. His use of black and white photography makes this a timeless work; lines blur between eons, transporting the reader to an era when humanity and wild nature were more closely aligned. Wonderful highly detailed monochrome photographs interspersed with insightful personal comments and wildlife anecdotes. Well worth the modest price. Highly recommended!
