The Innocent One
by Cecilia Teng

The Innocent One by Cecilia Teng is a love story of the young and innocent Isabella and Nicolas, who fall in love as adolescents. They struggle against the pressures of tradition and obligation because they come from vastly different backgrounds. Thinking they have overcome narrow-minded parental teaching, they marry and have a child, a beautiful son. After Isabella loses her parents, the young couple and their son move into the home of Nicolas's parents--a doting, loving grandfather and a cruel, manipulative grandmother.

This is when Isabella's heartbreak begins as Nicolas succumbs to the influence and trickery of his controlling mother. With a secret in her heart, Isabella leaves with her son and experiences the difficulties of raising a child as a single mother. However, through unexpected circumstances, she is given an opportunity to do it all over again. This time, will love survive?
