About the Author
Robert Steven Drake was born in Savanna, Illinois, in May of 1951. Having grown up on the Upper Mississippi River with four brothers, four sisters, and very close cousins, Drake spent every summer exploring every inch of Savanna and the Palisades State park. The hard northern Illinois winters made for lots of fun, and sometimes dangerous, sledding, but Drake and his close-knit family members managed to survive all of the many close calls they encountered. Drake is also working on a book about his experiences during the Vietnam War entitles Combat Cook.
