Product Overview

by Torrin Noel Roberts Noel is a young black man who is trying to find himself in a confusing world of drugs, sex, and identity upheaval. He is content to hang out with his friends, arguing about the existence of God, and listening to music, trying to avoid the reality and responsibility of growing up as at the same time he philosophically muses about the events which have shaped him and contemplates what the future holds. Mary, his mysterious girlfriend, flits in and out of his life like a hummingbird. In one short college semester she managed to ruin Noels life with her antics and nearly put him out of commission for another two, then sneaked back into his life just when he thought he was getting it all together. As Noel shares his innermost thoughts with us, Mr. Roberts subtly relates a personal commentary on life and society through the belief systems of one mans tortured psyche. About the Author: A devoted father and husband, Torrin Noel Roberts is a student of the behavioral sciences, with an emphasis in anthropology. A member of the Democratic Socialists, he enjoys archaeology, hip hop culture, sports, video gaming, and all forms of art and music. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children: Ransom and Clemente. (2002, paperback, 62 pages)
