From gathering around the fireplace as the seventh child of 18 children with her parents in Columbia, Alabama to the Keeping It Real Mentoring Program (KIRMP) in Brockton, Massachusetts, the Rev. Dr. Margaret Jean Howard shows us what it means to find her prophetic voice, creativity, and purpose. Her book, like her preaching, amplifies the often overlooked people and messages and shows us how to connect our authentic voice to the needs of the community.

You'll appreciate Rev. Dr. Howard's clear language, expansive storytelling, and her engagement with the thorny paradoxes of everyday life and larger questions of religion and linguistic sexism. MY PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE helps us honor the strange and the vulnerable within ourselves and others.
This book is searing, provocative, and ultimately hopeful. One need not agree with, or be comfortable with, everything in these pages to learn much from them.
