By: Jean-Bertho Almonord

About the Book

In Search of Hallelujahs tells the story of Jean, a man born in Saint-Louis du Nord, Haiti. He is ingenuous and beats death at its own game many times in his life. If there is a problem Jean cannot solve with his own resourcefulness, he looks to God.

This book treats many thought-provoking questions. Can Christianity coexist with the occult? Is Christianity relevant? Is the occult relevant? Is Catholicism relevant? Is Protestantism relevant? Can Protestantism coexist with Catholicism?

How does Jean, the protagonist, earns his hallelujahs? He earns them by performing great feats in life. The book is not saying praise be to Jean. It is instead saying praise be to God for Jean. The story unfolds in Saint Louis du Nord, Haiti. The LaPierre family along with Sofiana raises Jean to be a good husband to his wife,Vernice. Later on, Jean has a child named Jean-Pasquale who makes it to MIT as an international student.

The book treats many themes; Can forgiveness be a process; Is either Catholicism or protestantism relevant; is the occult relevant; can christianity work with the occult. This is a great read.
