Dentistry's Best Kept Secret
by Dr. Lawrence A. Saunders

In Dentistrys Best Kept Secret, Dr. Lawrence A. Saunders seeks to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions regarding his profession. With four decades of experience in private practice and teaching, he is well placed to educate the public about the little-known specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

The innovations of this field can directly impact patient careif one is prepared to ask the right questions and to seek care from professionals in the appropriate specialty. When faced with a dental emergency or a painful illness or injury, we are likely to turn directly to our general dental practitioner for help; unfortunately, the care and referrals provided may not be the best possible option available for treatment. By empowering the consumer with knowledge, Dr. Saunders hopes to expand the publics awareness of the role of oral and maxillofacial surgery and to encourage individuals to proactively seek specialty care when needed.

An accessible and practical guide, Dentistrys Best Kept Secret will help the reader to understand the options available for dental and surgical care, saving time, money, and unnecessary suffering.
