About the Author

Jih-Jiang Chyu is a professional engineer with over four decades of experience. He holds master and doctorate degrees in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University. Dr. Chyu is a fellow and life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), a charter member of the Engineering Mechanics Institute of ASCE, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, with his brief biography in Whos Who in Science and Engineering, first edition, 1992/1993 (The Marquis Whos Who Publications Board), and has published numerous works related to engineering.
