Product Overview

by Rebecca Betty Pinkney From the time Rebecca Betty Pinkney can remember, she worked in bean fields from sunrise to sunset with her family to make ends meet. Growing up, she would cry many days and nights because she never had the chance to play and be a child. Still, she refused to give up on her dreams and wished for a better life one day. Under the direction of Mr. Peter Olsen, Betty crafted this beautiful collection of paintings and stories inspired by her life. Through her own unique style of painting, Betty shares the many trials and triumphs that have brought her to the place she is in today. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rebecca Betty Pinkney is a native of Belle Glade, Florida. She has two children: Paul and Charles Seabrooks. She is a member of the Deerfield Beach Historical Society and enjoys painting in her free time. She was inspired to write this book by Mr. Peter Olson, her art instructor, in hopes that she could touch and inspire the lives of other people through her stories and artwork. (2008, paperback, 64 pages)
